This Feeling Body

1st November 2:00pm - 5:00pm

Home in Mount Maunganui

What to Expect

A 3-hour experiential immersion into sensation, movement, relationship and expression.

May we experience what happens when you begin relating to your body differently.

For a long time, we've been taught to see the body as a collection of parts. But it has always been a living ecology of cells, microbes, mitochondria, fascia, water, memory, rhythm, breath, touch and time. And it has always had a story to tell. We just built a world that steered us away from listening.

Together, we'll practice moments of repair and connection, and honour that our bodies are communicating intelligently through feelings and symptoms in a world that is often very different to their natural rhythm.

This is a slow, spacious invitation back into the conversation. Drawing from somatic practices, my training in craniosacral therapy, yoga, embodied unwinding and embodied meditative studies, and my ongoing study of trauma-informed approaches, we'll explore:

𖥧 Re-inhabiting the body

Gently shifting attention from thought, screens and doing to the felt experience of being here.

𖥧 The language of sensation

Becoming curious about breath, temperature, pressure, impulse and movement, without needing to analyse or change anything.

𖥧 Your inner landscape

Noticing where you feel connected, distant, alive, quiet, held or activated.

𖥧 Free movement and expression

Moving, drawing and writing without choreography or performance.

𖥧 Resting without leaving yourself

The difference between collapsing and genuinely softening.

𖥧 Moving towards and away

Practicing staying connected to an experience without becoming overwhelmed by it.

𖥧 Being witnessed

Simple paired practices around presence, boundaries and choice.

𖥧 Sensitivity in collective dissociation

Learning tokens of repair whilst saying no to apologising for accurately feeling what’s going wrong in our shared world.

"Re-embodying in an artificial world might just change the world."

A note from Caroline about this gathering…

A passion of mine is creating the conditions for rest to occur, for the body to experience something other than brace, pace and collapse. That's part of this workshop, but my intention is for you to do more than receive. I hope you'll reap the richness of participating fully within the container of your skin and the flesh of your body.

Sometimes life feels like too much, and sometimes like too little. It can feel like walking through mud, or sinking into quicksand. My wish is to share ways you can hold yourself through these different textures of life, and to sense when it's time to gather support, retreat, live into momentum, or cocoon and soften.

Mud is part of the terrain. We're not here to avoid it or rush through it. We're here to learn how to stay with ourselves while we're in it.

For the last seven years, I've been drawn to interoceptive practices that invite in the story of our vessel. I've collected many tools along the way, and while they're helpful, my recent personal work and study have reminded me what it is to be in real relationship with myself. That's a little different from doing something to feel a certain way. It's learning to dance your own dance and pluck your own instrumental chords.

I'm excited to bring this out into the world, and to share it from the comfort of my own home. This will be an intimate group, just the way I like it.

I hope to see you there.

With love,
C x

If you have any questions, please email me at carolinewellbeing@gmail.com.

I’ve taken my time to price this in a way I feel can still be accessible given the seeds we will plant for you to take home with me. If the price does feel out of reach, please flick me an email and I’m happy to support you being there in anyway I can. My wish in this world is to witness more people re-embodying their vessels and truly feeling the magnitude of this human experience.
