Meet Caroline.

Amongst the many facets I am a teacher and devoted student, deeply fascinated and drawn to the vast world of our human nature through Yoga, Meditation, Somatics, Craniosacral, Ancient Wisdom, the Natural World and Rest.

With a natural affinity to the wisdom and depths of our bodies, our heart led notion and the art of slow living, I work with those who wish to explore together what it is to feel connected, rested and grounded in one Self.

I have devoted the last seven years to the field of Attunement, also known as building intimacy with the body. As we refine our capacity to listen to sensations also known as the messages from our body, we are able to meet this history stored in our tissues. When met with open compassion and awareness, our grip softens. There is an unwinding and restoring that happens. In the presence of another attuned presence especially, there is hope to be found in unravelling the stickier, more fragile parts to our humanness. Hence my love for the collective field, gathering in humility, vulnerability and awe.

The source of this inspiration stems from my greatest challenges, trudging through muddy waters, greeting and meeting, they have only then become gifts. The unease, flooding anxiety, chronic illness and sense of helplessness, has stretched me but in a way only closer to myself, illuminating my path back to a reciprocal relationship with myself and the natural world.

Through my own path I have been guided to discover ways of being, practices and teachings that install faith, health, safety and presence. Ways of being that had previously felt far away. In no means, discovered ‘states’ to perfect or shelter from the array of innate, sometimes wild and rich tapestry of this very body and life, but to contact safety as a way of being in relationship with all inner terrain textures.

As loud as the world can be at times, I have dedicated much of my study towards Trauma and the role it plays with our Nervous System, Immune System and overall health. Creating trauma sensitive spaces. Open to all with the reminder that “Trauma is not what happens to you. Trauma is what happens inside you as a result of what happens to you.” - Gabor Maté

The more clinical model tends to individualises trauma, locating it solely in the person’s nervous system, treating it as something to resolve privately. Here, we tend to trauma from a different lens. It’s a more ecological model which creates an understanding that most chronic dysregulation is a rational response to irrational systems. Patriarchy, colonisation, economic precarity, ecological grief and intergenerational wounding. This idea that you can’t regulate your way out of an ongoing traumatic context. Instead meeting it with a relational resonance.

I give my deepest appreciation to my teachers, for the blessings of their mentorship, in particular Claire Robbie, Kristin Borchardt, Alani Klein, Tina Nance, Maggie Kline and Juliette Mcconachy.
