Somatic Therapy

Somatic therapy is a body-based approach to healing that works with the nervous system, rather than only the mind.

It supports you in gently reconnecting with your body, building capacity, and creating a felt sense of safety from within.

In a world that often asks us to override our bodies, this work is an invitation to slow down and listen.

This work may support:

  • anxiety and overwhelm

  • nervous system dysregulation

  • stress and burnout

  • disconnection from the body

  • emotional processing

  • building resilience and capacity

My Approach

My work is grounded in trauma-informed, nervous system-based practices and is deeply influenced by my ongoing training in Somatic Experiencing.

Sessions are gentle, collaborative, and paced according to your system. Rather than pushing for release, we work with what feels safe, allowing the body to naturally process and integrate.

This is not about fixing, but about supporting your system back into balance.

Sessions are deeply restful. Many people experience:

  • guided body awareness (interoception)

  • tracking sensations

  • breath and nervous system regulation tools

  • resourcing and grounding

  • gentle exploration of patterns held in the body

Each session is unique and unfolds at the pace of your nervous system.

I am currently in training in Somatic Experiencing, and this work is offered as somatic support informed by this approach, alongside my experience in nervous system regulation, yoga, and facilitation.

Sessions are available in person across New Zealand and Australia. In-person sessions available in Mount Maunganui (April–May), Northern Rivers, Australia (May–November), and Kaikōura (from November).
