An ode to India
India, 2024.
The rituals found in different pockets, faith weaved in to all facets, beauty found in the rawness, a sensory feast, a passage, a reconnection.
From the delight of all senses with the vibrancy of colours to the sounds of beeping, bells and crackles, the smell of spices, then to the stillness of the mountain forest, monks roaming & people singing. There is this wonderful duality and contrast.
To oscillate between feels like a treat. Time to be immersed in the aliveness, the experiencing, the charge. To slowing, grounding and receiving.
As Buddha says, settling into the middle way.
Currently I’m tucked up in the mountains, learning about Ayruveda (the art/science of life), sharing smiles and tea with the beautiful people here, walking to waterfalls and fostering more time for introspection.
A detaching from the ‘norm’ and settling into a new set of luxuries.
I can see why when meeting those travelling also, it was rarely their first time embarking on Indian soil. There had been many times before and seemed many more to come. So much to explore, sense and feel.
